An Inductive Isolation-Based 10 kV Modular Solid Boost-Marx Pulse Generator

The solid-state Marx pulse generator is widely used in various fields such as biomedical electroporation, food processing, and plasma material modification. In this paper, an inductor chosen isolation device by adding a switch to the circuit, boost-Marx (BMPG) formed. On one hand, forms boost circuit multiply output voltage gain, on other it solves shortcomings of conventional generators where charging speed total efficiency during high-frequency generation are drastically affected resistor. selection criteria for inductors well derived. Based PSpice simulation verification, 12-module prototype BMPG built. test results show that can achieve 10 kV high-voltage with width 200–1000 ns adjustable repetition frequency 0–10 kHz. While input DC requirement only 235 V, multiple up 42.5 times. Additionally, different switching sequences, proposed realize change rising time falling time.
